Union Home Ministry on Friday (February 14) held a high-level meeting on the anniversary of Pulwama attack and decided anyone can extend help to the families of martyred soldiers through 'CRPF veer pariwar mobile’ application.
Notably, the app has been developed to show the financial benefits provided to the families of martyrs and it will also show other kinds of help provided to their families. On the occasion of CRPF Valour Day 2019,President Ram Nath Kovind had launched this app.
In 2017, bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had launched a similarapp ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ for helping families of martyred central paramilitary forces that were initiated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Earlier in the day, the Pulwama terror attack was at the centre of a bitter war of words between the opposition and the BJP with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking who benefitted from the strike and the ruling party accusing him of being a "known sympathiser" of terror groups LeT and JeM.
In an attack on the government, Rahul Gandhi paid homage to the CRPF martyrs and also asked what was the outcome of the inquiry into theattack. In a tweet, Rahul asked, "Today as we remember our 40 CRPF martyrsin the #Pulwama Attack , let us ask: 1. Who benefitted the most from the attack?2. What is the outcome of the inquiry into the attack? 3. Who in the BJP Govthas yet been held accountable for the security lapses that allowed the attack?"
The ruling party's response came almost immediately after Gandhi's controversial tweet, BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao tweeted, "Shameon you," and added "When nation is paying homage to martyrs ofdastardly Pulwama attack, @RahulGandhi, a known sympathizer of LeT &Jaish-e-Mohammad, chooses to target not just the government but security forcesas well. Rahul will never question real culprit, Pakistan...," Rao said onTwitter. While the Congress, as well as the CPI-M, raised questions onaccountability, the BJP hit back to say Rahul Gandhi was insulting the memoryof the 40 CRPF personnel killed in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14last year.
